Welcome!
I’m glad you’re here! My name is Clayton Tucker, I’m a man of admittedly many hats. I spent much of my childhood helping my grandfather manage the family ranch. We had all sorts of critters growing up, but we’re mostly a cattle ranch.
When my grandfather passed, I went to Southwestern University to study International Politics with a minor in Mandarin and I lived in Taiwan for a few years. Being the oldest child of the oldest child, I returned to Texas to start rebuilding the family ranch.
We now run cattle, goats, donkeys, and chickens. We’re working to institute regenerative practices and modernize operations, including officially branding as the RX Ranch to honor my grandfather (who was a pharmacist).
I’m also very politically involved. In 2020, I ran for the Texas State Senate District 24. Considering the severe gerrymandering, we did pretty well! I turned my campaign into a nonprofit that builds community/urban gardens in food deserts around Killeen/Fort Cavazos, as well as helping veterans with PTSD. The organization is called the Killeen Creators, you can learn more about them here.
I’m the Chair of the Lampasas Democrats; Member of the State Democratic Executive Committee; a board member of the Texas Young Democrats, Blue Horizons Texas, and Texas Rural Democrats; and I’m a co-founder/president of the Texas Progressive Caucus.
I’ve also written a book! It’s called Mandated Happiness, it’s basically 1983 with social media and AI. You can learn more by clicking the link above.
As I said, man of many hats! This Substack is mostly only related to the ranch. Our baby goats and donkeys are pretty popular so this Substack is largely dedicated to them!
